O Concurso Brasileiro de 144 MHz, CB144, firmou-se como um dos mais tradicionais concursos brasileiros de radioamadores. Na sua oitava edição é o mais antigo evento de VHF no Brasil.
É responsável pela correta formação de novatos no DX. Normalmente o CB144 é primeiro contato de um novato com o radioamadorismo de competição. Muitos deles após uma participação está perfeitamente adaptado as condições de um pile-up.
Também é um desafio aos veteranos, pois DX em VHF envolve um novo universo e conceito sobre contatos a longa distancia.
A nova legislação de radioamadores, Resolução Anatel 449 e 452, tornou a participação mais agradável, contudo sem perder a emoção e desafio.

1A4A : Starting from Jan 2007 a new Amateur Radio Station license has been issued from the SMOM, The Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
The license is hold from the S.M.O.M. and its managing is in charge to Giorgio IZ4AKS. The first activity of this station will be from 2 January 2007 to 8 January 2007, from the extraterritorial zone of the Magistral Villa on the Aventine hill in Rome. The operators are IZ4AKS, IZ4DPV, I4UFH,
IK4UPB and IW0DJB (HV5PUL). Activity will cover from 2m to 160m, SSB/CW/RTTY mode. Three stations will be active at same time, DX areas, as Japan, South America and West coast, especially on lowest bands will be empathized.

The license has been granted into a fundraising program to support the worldwide relief activityes of the Order of Malta. The Order follows its historic hospitaller mission providing help to the needy and the sick. Today the Order of Malta is a major global, professional organisation in terms of the humanitarian aid, medical care and emergency medicine it provides, in its management of hospitals, specialised homes for dependent elderly people, socio-medical care centres, the collection and transporting of medicines and the training of workers and ambulance staff. The Order currently has medical and humanitarian programmes in more than 120 countries.
1A4A (One Aid 4 Africa) first activity is finalized to collect founds to build a school for young girls, as part of a support plan for the rebirth of South Sudan, coordinated by the Order of Malta, together with the Italian govern.

O Grupo Dardo de VHF-DX estará ativo nos dia 15 e 16 de novembro ao sul de Ilha Comprida, na mesma região onde conseguimos o primeiro contato TEP entre São Paulo e Caribe em 144 MHz.
Eles entarão claro a TEP e também os sinais nacionais por Tropo/Es. O localizador é uma das poucas porções de terra da área GG64, o GG64BX.
As QRGs principais de operação serão as de chamada geral SSB/CW:
50,110 - 144,200 - 432,100 MHz.

FIRST DXPEDITION TO IOTA OC-295P (PULAU SEBATIK)
Following the RSGB IOTA Committee recent announcement that Pulau Sebatik (Sebatik island, 9M6, YB7) would count as a new IOTA group (OC-295P), a DXpedition is to be mounted to activate this island for the first time.
Members of the Borneo Amateur Radio Club including Steve, 9M6DXX (ex-G4JVG, P29DX etc) and John, 9M6XRO (ex-9M6/G3OOK), will be active as x (callsign applied for) from approximately 1100UTC on 14 July until about 0300UTC on 17 July 2006. Activity will be on 10 to 80m, CW and SSB, using up to three stations simultaneously. One station will use a beam antenna and two will use 400W amplifiers.

Que o Dr. David Borenstein-KA2HTV estará viajando para Pyongyang, capital da República Popular da Coréia (Coréia do Norte), no dia 09/08, onde irá permanecer até o dia 23, recebeu permissão formal do Governo daquele país para operar, durante a sua estada, estação de radioamador com o Indicativo de Chamada “P5/KA2HTV”.
Como o motivo da sua ida à Coréia do Norte não é a operação de estação de radioamador, espera poder estar no ar, diariamente, durante 1 ou 2 horas.
Em princípio, por razões de segurança, somente poderá operar na banda dos 20 metros, na modalidade de SSB.
Os equipamentos da estação de radioamador que para lá serão levados e instalados, após a operação, ali permanecerão, pretendo-se com este gesto ensejar, em um futuro próximo, novas operações P5.
A Lone Star DX Association (LSDXA) é a patrocinadora desta operação.
Os QSL decorrente dos contatos com P5/KA2HTV deverão ser enviados para KK5DO.”
Segundo informação publicada na revista “WorldRadio”, edição do mês de fevereiro do ano em curso, o radioamador Len-VK8DK, responsável pelo Bureau de QSL do Radio Clube da Austrália, alerta que ultimamente tem recebido cartões de QSL confirmando contatos com estações de prefixos VJ8, VL8, VM8 e VN8. Esclarece que tais prefixos não são outorgados à estações de radioamador e sim a estações Comerciais, Marítimas e Aeronáuticas ou, ainda, outras não permissionárias do Serviço de Radioamador. Na oportunidade, solicita que se algum radioamador ouvir chamados de estações com esses prefixos, certamente são clandestinas” e como tal devem ser tratadas. SU8IOTA NELSON Island Delayed
We are sorry to tell you that our SU8IOTA dx-pedition from Nelson island (AF-NEW) has been postponed to an indefinite date. On our first day (April 23rd) on the island, the marine forces controlling the area prevented us from landing our equipment and asked for additional permissions from the army headquarters. We have no idea about the time frame needed to issue us these permissions, but we hope that this process might take only few days, so please frequently check this page for news updates.
